Frequently Asked Questions

What does the "Verified" badge mean on my store?

The "Verified" badge means your store has passed offline store verification after a visit from a Jiji offline agent. During the visit, the agent adds verified store details to your store page.

Important: If you edit certain verified store information, you may lose your verified status and the badge. This is why you may see a warning message when editing your store info. To regain the badge, you will need to pass offline store verification again.

What information was added during offline store verification?

This information is added by a Jiji offline agent after your store is verified. It may include:

  • Company name
  • Business hours
  • Store address
  • Google Maps link or coordinates
  • Store photos

Editing store info: when you keep the badge

You will keep the "Verified" badge if you edit:

  • Company name
  • Business hours
  • Some photos (but not all of them)

You can delete or replace a few photos. But if you remove or replace all store photos, you will lose your verified status.

Editing store info: when you lose the badge

You will lose the "Verified" badge if you edit:

  • All photos
  • Address
  • Google Maps link or coordinates

For example, if you try to delete all store photos, the app will show a confirmation message warning that you will lose your "Verified" status. If you continue, the badge will be removed.

If the badge is removed, you will need to pass offline store verification again to get it back. If you are not sure whether a change will remove your badge, contact your personal manager or reach out to Jiji Support at support@jiji.ng.

"Verified" vs "CAC Verified": what is the difference?

"Verified" is added after your store passes offline store verification.

"CAC Verified" is an additional badge that may appear if your CAC was uploaded during offline store verification. If you do not have a CAC, this step is skipped, and you will not receive the "CAC Verified" badge.

How can I pass offline store verification?

At the moment, sellers cannot request this verification directly in the app. Offline store verification is currently available only to paid sellers.

If you want to learn more, you can ask your personal manager about this feature. If you are eligible, the process usually looks like this:

  1. Your personal manager contacts you, or you ask your personal manager about verification.
  2. You share extra details to help find your shop (for example, a nearby landmark or bus stop).
  3. A Jiji offline agent visits your store to verify it.
  4. The agent adds the verified store information and takes photos.
  5. The "Verified" badge appears near your store.
