High-quality photos are one of the most important things in a successful ad. Here's what to keep in mind when uploading images on Jiji.
Technical requirements
- Number of photos: up to 20 per ad. The first photo is the main one — it appears in search results and the feed.
- File format: JPG, JPEG, PNG, or HEIC. Other formats are not accepted at upload.
- Minimum size: at least 480 px wide (some categories like vehicles and property require at least 600 px). Smaller images won't be accepted.
- Maximum file size: up to 25 MB per image.
- At least 1 photo is required to publish an ad in most categories.
Content rules
Your ad will be approved faster — and look better to buyers — if your photos:
- Show only your product. Avoid posting screenshots from another website, manufacturer renders, or stock images. Take real photos with your phone.
- Are clean and clear. No watermarks, logos, contact details, prices, or text overlays on the photos. These fields belong in the ad form, not on the image.
- Cover the item from different angles. Front, back, sides, important details, brand markings, and any signs of wear (if any).
- Don't combine several products in one image. One ad = one product (see decline reasons).
- Are appropriate. No nudity, no offensive content, no anything that violates our Platform rules.
Tips for better photos
- Use natural daylight whenever possible — it's the easiest way to make photos look professional;
- Use a plain background (a clean wall, a sofa, a table) so your product stands out;
- Hold the camera steady — blurry photos look low-quality and make buyers hesitate;
- Place the item in the centre of the frame so it isn't cropped in the feed;
- Take a fresh photo each time rather than reusing the same image across different ads (reused images may be marked as duplicates).
If your ad is declined because of photo issues, you'll see a clear note explaining what to fix. See the photo decline reasons for specific cases.
