How long does ad moderation take?

Every ad on Jiji goes through review before it appears in search results. This protects buyers from misleading or unsafe listings and keeps the marketplace fair.

How long does it usually take?

• Most ads are reviewed within a few hours — sometimes much faster, depending on the time of day and how busy our moderation queue is;
• During peak hours (evenings, weekends, holidays), the queue can be longer;
• Ads in popular categories like Vehicles or Property may take a little longer because they're checked more thoroughly.

How will I know when my ad is reviewed?

• You'll get an email notification when your ad goes live (or, if something needs fixing, what to change);
• In the Jiji app, you'll also receive a push notification if push is enabled;
• You can always check the status in My Adverts — your ad will be marked as "Active", "On moderation", "Declined", or another status.

What if my ad has been on moderation for a long time?

• If it's been less than 24 hours, please wait — the queue can sometimes be busy.
• If it's been more than 24 hours and the status hasn't changed, double-check your email (including spam) for a notification about edits we may need;
• If you still have no update, contact our Support Team at support@jiji.ng with your ad title or link, and we'll look into it.

Editing an ad sends it back to moderation

Heads up: when you edit an active ad, it goes for review again. It won't be visible in search results until the new review is done.
