If you no longer want to use Jiji, you can deactivate your account at any time.
Before you delete your account, consider these alternatives:
- Want to change your phone number? You don't need to delete your account — just update it in your profile settings.
- Want to change your email? Same — update it directly in profile settings.
- Receiving too many notifications? Go to My Profile → Settings → Manage notifications and turn off the ones you don't need.
If you've decided to proceed with deletion:
- Sign in to your Jiji account;
- Go to My Profile → Settings;
- Scroll to the bottom and click "Deactivate account";
- Choose a reason and confirm with your password.
What happens when you delete your account:
- Your active ads are removed from Jiji and stop being visible to other users;
- Your profile, including your name, photo, and contact details, is anonymized;
- Your phone number and email are unlinked from the account;
- If you had a company profile, it is anonymized and its stores are removed;
- Your social connections (Google/Facebook), if any, are disconnected;
- Any pending KYC documents are removed.
