How do I mark my ad as sold?

When you've finished a deal, please close the ad — it tells buyers the product is no longer available and helps Jiji recommend better matches to other users.

1. Sign in to your Jiji account;
2. Go to My Adverts;
3. Find the ad you've sold and click "Close";
4. You'll see a short, optional question asking why you're closing the ad. Pick the option that matches (or skip if you don't want to answer):
   • "Sold on Jiji" — you found the buyer through Jiji;
   • "Sold on another site" — you found the buyer elsewhere;
   • "Not selling it anymore" — you've decided not to sell;
   • "Other" — any other reason.
5. Confirm — your ad moves to "Closed" status and stops appearing in search results.

The same flow works for other categories:

• For rental ads, you'll see options like "Rented out on Jiji", "Rented out on another site", etc.;
• For job vacancies, "Found an applicant on Jiji" and similar options;
• For services, "Found clients on Jiji", "Not looking for clients anymore", etc.

Why we ask

Your answer is optional but very helpful. It lets us measure how often deals happen on Jiji and improve the platform for everyone. Telling us you found the buyer on Jiji also helps us recognise active deals on the platform.

Can I reopen a closed ad?

Yes — if you've changed your mind or have more of the same product to sell, you can renew the closed ad and it will be active again. See How do I renew my ad? for details.
