You can reach a seller in two ways on Jiji: chat or phone call. Both have their advantages — pick whichever works best for your situation.
When chat is better:
- You want to ask a few quick questions without committing to a phone call;
- You'd like to see the answers in writing — for example, exact specs, dimensions, or available colours;
- You're shopping around and want to compare several sellers before deciding;
- You need a written record of what was agreed — useful if something goes wrong later;
- You'd prefer not to share your phone number until you're ready.
When a phone call is better:
- You're ready to buy and want to agree on the deal quickly;
- You have several questions and a conversation is faster than typing;
- You want to confirm the seller is genuine and the item is still available;
- You'd like to arrange a meeting or delivery on the same day.
How to call: open the ad and click "Show contact" to reveal the seller's phone number, then tap to call.
How to chat: open the ad and click "Start chat" (see the chat guide for details).
Whichever you choose, remember to stay safe:
- Never send prepayments before you've seen the product;
- Meet in a public place if you're collecting in person;
- Don't share your bank details, OTPs, or passwords with anyone.
