Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I post a new ad? (Category limit reached)

If you're trying to post a new ad and you see a message like "Category limit reached" or your ad goes straight into Drafts, it means you've used up the free posting slots for this category.

How free posting limits work

Jiji gives every user a certain number of free ad slots:

  • A baseline number of free ads across your account;
  • Per-category limits — for example, "Cars", "Mobile Phones", "Real Estate" each have their own number of free slots;
  • The exact numbers vary by category. Bigger categories like Cars typically have lower free limits than general ones.

Once you've used up the free slots in a category, your next ad in that category is saved as a draft instead of being published.

What you can do

  1. Free up a slot. Go to My Adverts, find an ad in the same category that you no longer need, and close or delete it. The freed slot can immediately be used for the new ad.
  2. Buy a Premium Package. Boost Packages and similar Premium Services unlock additional slots in the relevant categories, so you can publish more than the free limit. To see the options for your category, visit the Premium Services page.
  3. Activate your draft after buying a package. Open My Adverts → Drafts, find the saved ad and click "Publish" — it'll go through moderation as a normal ad.

Where to check your remaining slots

You can see how many free slots you have available in each category on the Premium Services page. Select the category you want, and you'll see the free limit, your current usage, and the available Premium Packages for that category.

Why limits exist

Free limits keep search results balanced — without them, a single seller could flood a category with hundreds of ads and crowd out everyone else. Premium Packages let serious sellers post more, while keeping the marketplace fair for casual users.
