The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for bringing the companies brand to life on social media. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media content creation through copy writing and curation, audience engagement, and analyzing social media results. This role reports to the Social Media Manager and works closely with Corporate Communications, Customer Service, Sponsorship, and Brand Marketing teams.
Build brand loyalty by planning, developing, creating and executing cross-channel social media strategy (paid and organic). Social Media channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google +, Snapchat and other developing channels.
Create content for multiple social media channels. You need to understand each channel audience/capabilities and demonstrate how to write and showcase content that engages the audiences and drives conversions. This includes copywriting, photography and video production.
Contribute to social media editorial calendar by curating and creating fresh content through copy, photo and video. You'll help bring ideas to life that brand awareness.
Act as the voice of Alaska and ensure all content and customer messaging is consistent with brand voice and tone.
Lead social media analytics and insights. Develop and analyze social content performance, paid social performance, and social listening trends and compile key metric reports as needed.
Coordinate all social promotions, sweepstakes/contests or marketing programs to ensure maximum value.
Collaborate and coordinate calendars across departments on social media strategies. Includes brand marketing, corporate communications, web content and email marketing teams.
Assist with paid social media tactics to increase visibility and drive results.
Assist and collaborate with Corporate Communications and Social Care teams during crisis communications, viral incidents and other escalated events.

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
Minimum of three years of social media business experience required.
Travel Industry experience preferred.
Basic design fundamentals in photography, videography, or graphic design.
Strong analytics and organization skills with Power Point, Excel, Website and Social Media analytic platforms.
Strong written communications skills with the ability to write content that resonates with target audience and is brand appropriate.
Strong decision making skills to determine appropriate tone, direction and substance of social media posts that drive engagement results.
The ability to adapt on the fly to changing requirements in a competitively charged environment and be willing to try new things in order to drive execution that successfully differentiates our product among a vast number of competitors.
Self-starter who takes initiative to seek out stories and content regardless of obstacles encountered.
Strong passion and curiosity for the social digital space required.
Must be able to work weekends as needed.
