That’s a Marine Safety Line Throwing Bag / Rescue Throw Bag
What is it used for?
It’s a safety equipment used on ships, boats, docks, and offshore platforms for man-overboard rescue.
How it works:
1. High-Visibility - The bright orange/red color + reflective stripes make it easy to spot in water, even at night or in bad weather
2. Throwing Line - Inside the bag is a long floating rope, usually20m -30m. You hold the bag and throw it to a person in the water
3. Rescue - The person in the water grabs the rope, and you pull them to safety
Main Uses:
• Ships & Vessels - Required SOLAS equipment for man-overboard situations
• Ports, Jetties & Docks - Emergency rescue for workers who fall into water
• Lifeboats & Safety Drills - Part of standard marine safety gear
