use a Lalizas life jacket, wear it over your head, secure the waist strap and crotch strap tightly for a snug fit, ensuring it's snug but comfortable; the foam panels should be on your front/back, and if it's an inflatable, it'll automatically inflate in water or with a pull, keeping your mouth clear and helping you float, with features like a whistle and lifting loop for rescue. Always choose the right size and check it's in good condition before use, especially on commercial vessels where SOLAS standards are mandatory.
