That’s a Non-Woven Surface Conditioning Disc / Scouring Pad
What it is:
• Type: Brown non-woven abrasive disc, also called "Scotch-Brite style" pad
• Backing: Has a screw/threaded stud in the middle - so it mounts to a drill or die grinder
• Grit: Usually medium/fine - for cleaning and finishing, not heavy grinding
What it’s used for:
These are for cleaning and polishing, not cutting.
1. Surface prep - remove rust, paint, oxidation from metal
2. Deburring - smooth edges after cutting with the 180mm Diamond Disc
3. Finishing - give stainless steel, aluminum, or wood a satin/brushed finish
4. Cleaning - tiles, grout, tools - without scratching too deep
