BARD° MAX-CORE° Disposable Core Biopsy Instrument
Biopsy needle is mainly made of stainless steel, and is a kind of combined needles performs in a biopsy test. This set contains a trocar with straight groove, together with a hollow, larger caliber needle cannula (usually 14-20 gauge), used to remove a core of tissue from a lesion of interest for laboratory testing. Biopsy needle can be used to take tissue or fluid samples from muscles, bones and other organs, such as the liver and the lung.
While using, the trocar will pierce into the skin first and reach the sampling point, the cannula will follow it in about 0.1s. The cannula will cut through the tissue and enclose the cutoff samples in the groove part of the trocar. After the biopsy needle is pulled out, the extracted samples will then send to be examined.
