Welding safety glasses are essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with tinted, impact-resistant lenses that block harmful UV/IR radiation, sparks, and debris, protecting eyes from "welder's flash" during operations like torching or grinding, though higher-shade lenses are needed for intense arc welding, featuring ergonomic designs with anti-fog/scratch coatings for comfort and various shades (like Shade 5 for gas) for specific tasks, requiring ANSI Z87.1 compliance.
