Dispatch Coordinator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Load Sourcing & Matching ● Source and review incoming loads and delivery requests from shippers and the booking system ● Match available drivers to loads based on vehicle type, location and availability ● Confirm pickup and delivery timing with both driver and shipper before dispatch ● Track each load from booking through to completed delivery Driver Communication ● Assign loads to drivers and confirm they have the correct route, timing and delivery details ● Check driver and vehicle availability ahead of each dispatch ● Stay in contact with drivers during the delivery and step in quickly if something goes wrong ● Handle rescheduling, cancellations or last-minute changes with drivers directly Shipper Communication ● Keep shippers updated on load status, confirmed timings and any delays ● Confirm booking details and any special handling requirements before dispatch ● Act as the shipper's main point of contact for anything relating to an active load Operational Coord

Experience ● Must have prior experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a similar operational role — this is not an entry-level position ● Experience working with drivers, fleets or delivery scheduling is an advantage ● Experience in a startup or fast-moving environment is a plus Skills ● Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several loads at once ● Clear, confident communicator, both on the phone and in writing ● Calm under pressure and quick to resolve problems as they come up ● Comfortable working independently and making decisions in the moment Technical Skills ● Must own a working laptop — this is a work-from-home role and a laptop is required to carry out the job ● Comfortable using Excel, Google Sheets or a dispatch/booking dashboard ● Reliable internet access and basic smartphone proficiency (calls, WhatsApp, apps) Qualifications
