The FX-991ES Plus 2nd Edition is the redesigned and refined version of the popular ES Plus series. It keeps the lightweight 161.5 × 77 × 11.1 mm body and approximately 95 g weight, while improving the physical design for everyday student use. It uses both solar power and one LR44 button battery, with approximately 3 years of battery life, and automatically switches to battery power when available light is insufficient. The rounded body sits comfortably in the hand, while the redesigned rectangular keys are larger, easier to read, and easier to press. It also comes with a detachable hard protective case. Casio further tested the ES Plus series for key-print durability and resistance to drops from 75 cm, making this a strong upgrade for students who need a calculator built for regular school and university use.
