My background in food service started at home. My mum worked as a Cook at the British Deputy High Commission for 6 years, where she developed a disciplined approach to high-standard, large-scale cooking. She later joined the Ministry of Education as a Food Supplier for Igbokuta Model College, Ikorodu, and spent 20 years ensuring students received consistent, quality meals. When she resigned to establish her own business, Rosamatts Catering Services, I worked directly with her and her staff in the kitchen. That’s where I learned hands-on skills in prep, portioning, plating, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace under pressure.
Over the past 4 years as a Kitchen Assistant, I have supported chefs during peak service, managed stock rotation, assisted with food prep and equipment cleaning, and consistently followed food safety protocols. I’m reliable, quick to learn, and comfortable jumping in wherever the team needs me. I understand that a smooth kitchen runs on teamwork, timing, and attention to detail.
