Granular Potassium Nitrate (also known as Nitrate of Potash or NOP, chemical formula KNO3) is a high-quality, water-soluble fertilizer providing two essential plant nutrients: nitrogen (N) in the nitrate form (typically 13% N) and potassium (K) (typically 44-46% K2O).
What it does: It supplies readily available nitrate nitrogen (NO3−, immediately plant-available without microbial conversion) and chloride-free potassium (K+). This promotes strong vegetative growth, fruit development, quality enhancement (e.g., size, color, sugar content, shelf life), improved disease resistance, drought tolerance, and overall yield. It's especially valuable where chloride (Cl−) can harm plants or soil, as it avoids salinity issues common with muriate of potash (KCl).
