Responsibilities
Dispatch: source and review incoming loads and delivery requests; match available drivers and riders to loads by vehicle type, location and availability; confirm pickup and delivery times before dispatch; track each load through to delivery.
Communication: give drivers and riders the right route, timing and delivery details; stay in contact during deliveries and step in quickly if something goes wrong; handle rescheduling, cancellations and last-minute changes; keep shippers updated as their main contact for active loads.
Scouting and onboarding: search Jiji, Facebook groups, WhatsApp communities and Google Maps for bike riders, van and truck drivers, and businesses that move goods; call riders and drivers to explain the platform and book them in for onboarding; call businesses about their delivery needs and pass on warm leads; keep a tracker of contacts and follow-ups; meet weekly sign-up targets.
Support: flag recurring problems and keep all records up to date.
Requirements & Skills
Previous experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, telesales or a similar operational role. Experience working with drivers, riders or delivery scheduling is an advantage. Confident on the phone, including cold calling people you haven't spoken to before. Organised enough to manage several loads and a list of follow-up calls at the same time. Comfortable with Google Sheets or Excel, WhatsApp Business and online marketplaces like Jiji. Must own a laptop and a smartphone with a reliable internet connection. Dependable and calm when a delivery doesn't go to plan, friendly and persuasive on short calls, and able to work independently and flag problems early.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Minimum HND / BSc in any discipline, or equivalent experience.

We are a startup building a digital freight-hailing platform that connects businesses with trucks, vans and dispatch bikes on demand across Abuja, and we're putting together a small core team to run daily operations as we launch.
You'll keep freight moving on the platform day to day and, alongside dispatch, find and sign up new riders, drivers and businesses online and by phone. It suits someone who is comfortable on the phone and happy to carry two jobs while the team is small.
Remote (work from home), full-time, 3-month contract with possibility of extension. Reports to the Operations Manager. per month, with performance bonuses as the company grows.
