Pro-Optic Traditional Formula (Age Related Eye Disease Study 2 Based Formula)
Each Capsule Contains Lutein 10mg, Zeaxanthin 2mg , Zinc 20mg, Copper 1.2mg, Vitamin C 500mg and Vitamin E 134mg
Pro-Optic contains Zinc Citrate – a more tolerable and more easily absorped form of Zinc. With increased absorption, less is needed to reach therapeutic levels. Throughout the ARED studies, patients were given Zinc Oxide.
Pro-Optic contains Natural Vitamin E. Throughout the duration of both ARED studies, patients were given synthetic Vitamin E (a less expensive, petroleum based version). We use Natural Vitamin E because it is a safer and more effective form of the vitamin and less is needed to reach therapeutic levels obtained throughout the AREDS 2 study.
