Responsibilities
The instructor will:
• teach practical welding to small classes (5–15 students)
• demonstrate tig, mig and smaw welding techniques
• teach welding positions 1g, 2g, 3g, g, 5g & 6g. And 1f, 2f, 3f, & 4f
• supervise hands-on student practice sessions
• teach welding safety and correct workshop practices
• assist in student assessments and final practical tests
• maintain a safe and organised training workshop
this role is mostly practical workshop training, not classroom theory.
Requirements & Skills
Applicants must have strong hands-on welding experience.
Must have experience with: • tig (argon) welding
• mig welding
• smaw (stick) welding
strong advantage if experienced in: • stainless steel welding
• aluminium welding
• fabrication workshop projects
• pipe welding 5g & 6g
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Technical skill requirements
the candidate must be fully competent in:
smaw (stick welding)
gtaw (tig welding)
gmaw (mig/mag welding)
and must be able to weld confidently in:
flat position (1g / 1f)
horizontal position (2g / 2f)
vertical position (3g / 3f)
overhead position (4g / 4f)
basic pipe welding (optional but strong advantage)
3. Certifications (not compulsory but an advantage)
any of the following will strengthen the candidate:
trade test certificate (city & guilds or equivalent)
welding certification from recognized bodies (local or international)
safety certification (osha or basic workshop safety training)
technical college or vocational training in welding/fabrication

This role is ideal for a skilled welder or fabricator who wants to earn extra income while training aspiring welders.
Teaching / Training Ability
Previous experience training apprentices or junior welders (strong advantage)
Ability to explain welding processes clearly and simply
Ability to demonstrate and correct welding defects in real time
5. Fabrication & Engineering Knowledge
Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication plans
Understanding of:
Welding symbols
Joint types (butt, lap, fillet, T-joint, pipe joints)
Fit-up and alignment principles
