Parakeets, also known as Rose-ringed or Ring-necked Parrots, are intelligent and social birds native to Africa and South Asia. They are easily recognized by their bright green feathers, long tails, and the distinctive ring around the neck seen in mature males. Parakeets are highly active, curious, and enjoy living in groups where they communicate through chirps and calls.
These birds are excellent learners and can mimic sounds and simple words with regular interaction. Their diet consists mainly of seeds, grains, fruits, and fresh vegetables. With proper care, a clean environment, and mental stimulation, parakeets can live up to 20–30 years, making them lively and engaging companions as well as beautiful aviary birds.
