JET-LUBE Z-50TM Tool Joint Compound is a metallic zinc-based thread compound designed to protect tool joint threads and shoulders on drill collars and other drill string components.
It is formulated to prevent galling, wear, and corrosion, and ensures consistent make-up in a variety of drilling conditions.
Metallic zinc content: Contains 50% metallic zinc, meeting the requirements of API RP 5A3 Annex
It includes special additives to prevent the buildup and plating of metallic zinc often seen with other zinc-based compounds.
Base material: Made with an aluminum complex/petroleum base grease.
Temperature range: Effective in service temperatures from 0°F to 300°F (-18°C to 150°C).
Adhesion: Formulated for strong adherence to surfaces, including wet tool joints, and is resistant to water wash-out.
