The other half is a hollow ring (the spacer) possessing an inner diameter equal to the pipe, which allows normal process flow.Operation: It is permanently installed between two pipe flanges. To transition states, operators simply loosen the flange bolts, rotate the plate 180 degrees to switch from open to closed (or vice-versa), change the gaskets, and retighten the bolts
