That’s another infrared thermometer - Smart Sensor AS8720 model, in a blue case. Range says -50°C to 1150°C.
What it’s used for:
Same job as the orange one you sent before - measuring surface temperature instantly without touching. Point + shoot + read the screen.
Main jobs:
1. Welding/fabrication - Check preheat + interpass temps on steel/cast iron before welding. With those ECI cast iron rods you asked about, you need 200-400°C preheat. This gun confirms it.
2. Electrical + HVAC - Spot overheating breakers, motors, transformers, AC ducts. Hot spots = problems before they fail.
3. Automotive - Check brake rotors, engine temps, radiator, exhaust temps while running.
4. Industrial maintenance - Bearings, rollers, pumps, conveyor belts. If one bearing runs 50°C hotter than the others, it’s failing.
