That’s a Welding Chipping Hammer with spring handle
What it’s used for:
Cleaning welds. Every time you weld, slag forms on top of the weld bead. This hammer breaks/chips that slag off so you can see the weld and prep for the next pass or for painting.
Key parts:
1. Flat chisel end - chip slag off flat welds and plates
2. Pointed pick end - get into corners, tight spots, remove slag between passes
3. Spring handle - absorbs shock so your hand doesn’t take all the vibration. Also keeps it cool when welding hot
