The pictured item is an Alcad AL1-02 2-way splitter, used for dividing a signal into two outputs, typically for TV or satellite connections. Key features include:
Function: Distributes an input signal equally between two outputs.
Frequency Range: Operates between 5-2300MHz, suitable for terrestrial and satellite TV.
Application: Used in SMATV installations or to distribute signals in a star-shaped network.
Signal Loss: Splitting the signal results in a 3dB reduction (halving) at each output.
Considerations: Low-quality splitters can cause signal loss and picture issues.
Alternative Use: Can be used in reverse to combine signals from two antennas.
Installation: Connect the input cable to the 'IN' port and output cables to 'OUT1' and 'OUT2'.
