The ACO senses voltage from the main power (NEPA).
If voltage drops below a set level, or goes too high, the switch disconnects NEPA.
It connects the inverter or generator to the house load.
When NEPA voltage returns to normal, it switches back automatically.
Key Components
Relays: 2–4 depending on design
Relay 1 → Disconnect main power
Relay 2 → Connect alternate power
Optional: Additional relay → Interlock / delay
Voltage sensing circuit → detects over/under voltage
Delay timer → avoids frequent switching (e.g., 5–15 sec delay)
Manual override → switch to select NEPA or inverter
