Design:
The Jazz Bass features an offset body shape, similar to a Fender Jazzmaster or Jaguar, with a prominent long lower horn cutaway.
Pickups:
It is equipped with two narrow, eight-polepiece single-coil pickups, one at the bridge and one in the middle position, which contribute to its bright and rich midrange and treble tone.
Tone:
The Jazz Bass produces a versatile sound with blooming lows, growling highs, and slightly scooped mids when both pickups are fully open and the tone pot is fully open. This tone is generally considered more complex than that of a Precision Bass.
Origin:
Introduced by Leo Fender in 1960, it was the second electric bass guitar model created by Fender, following the Precision Bass.
