Responsibilities
- compile and organize all 17+ document categories required for the cbn pssp license application and maintain an updated compliance checklist against cbn circular psm/cir/gen/cir/01/22 - draft and maintain internal policy documents including kyc, aml/cft, dispute resolution, and merchant due diligence procedures - research and track competing pssp licensees, cbn licensing timelines, and fintech regulatory changes in nigeria - prepare and organize materials for cbn pre-consultations, banking partnership meetings with providus, titan trust, wema, and coordination with trust company partners such as fbnquest and united capital - maintain accurate records of all regulatory communications, project timelines, and milestone tracking - support technical documentation including system architecture and security frameworks, and assist with board materials and director information
Requirements & Skills
Requirements: - studying or recent grad in finance, law, economics, cs, or related field - based in lagos, available 20-30 hrs/week for 6-8 months - strong writing, attention to detail, and organization skills - proficient in google workspace / ms office - interest in fintech, payments, or compliance skills: - research and document organization - accurate, precise communication - ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines - basic understanding of regulatory or compliance work is a plus

Support FORNIX’s CBN PSSP licensing process as a Compliance & Licensing Intern. You will help organize regulatory documents, draft compliance policies, track CBN requirements, and coordinate with banks and Trust Company partners. This is a hands-on, unpaid internship focused on real fintech regulatory work. You’ll gain direct exposure to CBN licensing, KYC/AML compliance, and payments infrastructure in Nigeria, plus mentorship, a recommendation letter, and potential equity consideration.
