An Automatic Changeover Switch (ATS) 100A, 3-phase—also called an automatic transfer switch—is an electrical control device used to automatically switch power supply between two sources, typically mains (utility) and a generator, without manual intervention.
Main Components
* Control panel – Intelligent circuit that monitors voltage and controls switching
* Circuit breakers (MCB/MCCB) – Provide protection against overload and short circuit
* Timer/relay system – Adds delay to prevent sudden switching
* Indicator lights – Show power status (mains ON, generator ON, fault)
How It Works
1. When public power is available, the ATS connects the load to the mains supply.
2. When power fails, it automatically:
* Sends a signal to start the generator
* Waits for the generator to stabilize
* Switches the load to generator supply
