Vfd(Variable Frequency Drive)

Technical / operational responsibilities* - *system sizing & design*: match the right vfd size, voltage, and features to the motor + load. Wrong sizing = nuisance trips or burned motors. - *installation & commissioning*: mounting, wiring, parameter setup, motor auto-tuning, pid configuration, testing under load. - *troubleshooting & fault diagnosis*: overcurrent, overvoltage, earth fault, comms loss, etc. You’re the person clients call at 11pm when production stops. - *panel building*: if you fabricate: enclosure design, cable routing, mccb/fuse selection, heat dissipation, ip rating for dusty/humid lagos conditions. - *compliance & safety*: follow iec/nema standards, proper earthing, shielding for emi, lockout/tagout procedures.

Technical / core skills* - *electrical & controls knowledge*: wiring, 3-phase power, motor control, plc basics, and reading electrical schematics. You need to size, program, and commission vfds safely. - *vfd programming & troubleshooting*: parameter setup, pid loops, ramp/accel-decel tuning, fault codes, harmonic mitigation, braking resistors. Brands like abb, siemens, danfoss, schneider, delta all differ a bit.
