*Uziza leaves* – _Piper guineense leaves_
- *Look*: Dark green, broad, slightly shiny leaves with a strong peppery aroma
- *Taste*: Spicy, peppery with a slight bitter undertone. Not as hot as chilli pepper
- *Use in cooking*: Used fresh or dried in soups like *Uziza soup, Nsala soup [white soup], Pepper soup, and Egusi soup*. Especially popular in Igbo and Efik cooking
