16mm 3-core armored cable is an electrical cable made with three insulated conductors, each with a cross-sectional area of 16 mm2, protected by a layer of steel wire armor and an outer PVC sheath. It is designed to transmit electrical power safely in areas where the cable may be exposed to damage or harsh conditions.
Main Components
1. Conductor:
• Usually made of 100% copper or aluminium for good electrical conductivity.
2. Insulation:
• Each core is insulated with PVC or XLPE to prevent electrical leakage.
3. Bedding Layer:
• A protective PVC layer that separates the insulation from the armor.
4. Steel Wire Armor (SWA):
• Provides mechanical protection against pressure, impact, and rodent damage.
5. Outer Sheath:
• Black PVC covering that protects the cable from moisture, chemicals, and sunlight.
