Cat and kitten vaccination
6–8 weeks: First combination vaccine (FVRCP) to protect against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia
9–12 weeks: Second FVRCP dose
12–16 weeks: Third FVRCP dose and first rabies vaccine
After the kitten series:
1 year later: Booster for FVRCP and rabies.
Then: FVRCP is usually boosted every 1–3 years, while rabies boosters follow the vaccine
Other vaccines, such as for Feline Leukemia Virus, may be recommended for kittens that go outdoors or are at higher risk of exposure.
If your cat is an adult that has never been vaccinated, the schedule is different, typically involving two initial FVRCP doses given 3–4 weeks apart, plus rabies.
