An acetylene regulator is a highly specialized low-pressure gas control device engineered to safely manage and reduce volatile acetylene gas from high-pressure cylinders down to stable, usable torch pressures. Because acetylene gas becomes highly unstable and explosive if pressurized above 15 PSIG (1.03 bar) in its free state, all certified acetylene regulators are structurally limited to a maximum delivery pressure of 15 PSI for critical workshop safety.
