Rig wash is a specialized, heavy-duty industrial cleaning detergent and degreaser designed to remove stubborn crude oil, grease, drilling muds, bitumen, and carbon deposits from oilfield rigs, refinery machinery, and marine vessels. Because it relies on powerful wetting agents and surfactants rather than harsh solvents, it breaks down the molecular bonds of heavy hydrocarbons so they can be easily removed
