What it’s used for:
Based on D&H Sécheron’s line + the 5.0mm heavy-duty size, this is likely a hardfacing or build-up electrode. D&H makes a lot of "DI" / "DII" series rods for wear resistance.
Main jobs:
1. Hardfacing / surfacing - Put a super hard wear-resistant layer on parts that get abused. Think excavator bucket teeth, crusher hammers, plow shares, dredge pumps, mixing blades.
2. Build-up/repair - Rebuild worn shafts, axles, rollers, or edges before adding the hardfacing layer.
3. High abrasion/impact areas - Where steel wears out too fast. The weld deposit resists grinding, scraping, and impact.
