Thrinax radiata also known as the Florida thatch palm, is a medium to slow growing palm in the family Arecaceae, native to the Caribbean islands, Mexico, Central America, and far southern Florida. It is closely related to the genera Coccothrinax, Hemithrinax and Zombia. Flowers are small, bisexual and are borne on small stalks. Its natural habitat is sandy, calcareous soil in coastal areas and it grows well in tropical regions. It's is perfect for ornamental purposes,
