A video surveillance system, often known as CCTV, is made up of cameras, displays, and recorders. Cameras can be analog or digital, with a variety of design elements that will be explored shortly.
These systems can be used on both the inside and outside of a structure or property. They can function 24 hours a day, be configured to record only when motion is detected, or be set to record at specified periods of the day.
To deter crime, the cameras can be visible and out in the open, or they can be hidden and inconspicuous to record evidence with fewer chances of being tampered with. It is important to note, however, that laws govern the deployment of security cameras in the workplace.
