C12-C15 Alkyl Benzoate is a lightweight, oil-soluble ester commonly used in cosmetics and personal care formulations. Here’s what it does:
• Acts as an emollient – it softens and smooths the skin without feeling greasy.
• Improves texture and spreadability – gives a silky, light feel to lotions, creams, and sunscreens.
• Enhances absorption – helps active ingredients penetrate the skin more easily.
• Works as a solubilizer – especially useful for dissolving oil-soluble ingredients like UV filters in sunscreens.
• Reduces greasiness – often used as a silicone alternative in oil-free or non-comedogenic formulations.
• Improves product stability – adds slip and helps create elegant, non-tacky finishes.
