A wireless microphone is a mic that transmits the sound signal via radio (or digital wireless link) rather than a cable. The mic (or a small transmitter) sends the signal to a receiver, which is plugged into an amplifier, mixer, or speaker.
JBL offers a few wireless mic / microphone systems, especially targeted for use with their PartyBox speaker line.
