Floor-length, loose cocoon kaftan (bubu) in lightweight woven cotton-poplin stripe with a soft slight sheen. The body features vertical stripes, while the wide batwing/dolman sleeves are cut in one with the body, end just below the elbows, and feature horizontal stripes. The neckline is a narrow V-neck layered over an inset button-placket shirt bib with a sheer lace panel, with a centre-front seam extending below the V. A high stand collar in scalloped guipure (Venice) lace fastens at the throat. Two rounded pouch pockets sit at hip level, made from black handwoven Akwete cloth with cobalt, teal, white, rust, and gold-lurex motifs, finished along the top and bottom edges with silky tassels and beaded caps.
