Mesh fabric is a lightweight, open-weave textile made by interlacing yarns or threads so there are visible spaces/holes between them.
What it looks like & feels like:
Looks like a net or grid - you can see through it
Feels airy, flexible, and usually thin
Can be soft or stiff depending on the material and weave density
What it’s made from:
Mostly polyester, nylon, spandex, cotton, or blends. Synthetic fibers are most common because they hold the shape of the holes better.
Key properties:
Breathable: Air flows through easily, so it’s good for ventilation
Quick-drying: Doesn’t hold water well
Stretchy or rigid: Depends on the weave and fiber
