Power is converted into a transient high voltage pulse by a component known as a power energizer. Once every second, one terminal of the power energizer sends an electrical pulse along a linked bare wire. Another terminal is connected to a ground or earth rod, which is a metal rod inserted into the ground. Electrified fences have improved significantly over the years. Improvements include; Introduction of high tensile (HT) steel fence wire. Introduction of synthetic webbing and rope-like fencing materials woven with fine conducting wires.
