How Solar Distillation Works
Evaporation: Raw or brackish water is placed inside an airtight solar still under a transparent glass or plastic cover. Sunlight heats the water, causing it to evaporate while leaving behind salts, heavy metals, minerals, bacteria, and other impurities.
Condensation: Water vapor rises and contacts the cooler interior surface of the glass cover, condensing back into liquid droplets.
