Key information about the EDS3090: Purpose: It's used to precisely locate insulation faults in unearthed (IT) systems, including both energized and de-energized AC and DC systems. Components: The system includes an insulation fault evaluator (like the EDS195PM), an insulation fault test device (like the PSA3020), and measuring clamps (e.g., 20mm and 52mm). Functionality: When an insulation monitoring device (IMD) detects a fault, it sends a signal, and the EDS device, equipped with measuring current transformers (CTs), identifies the fault location by detecting a locator pulse. Benefits: It helps reduce maintenance costs and increase equipment utilization by automatically pinpointing ground fault locations, eliminating the need to manually search or de-energize loads.
