Palo Santo is often used by Amazonian shamans in sacred plant spirit ceremonies; the rising smoke of the lit sticks is believed to enter the energy field of ritual participants to clear misfortune, negative thoughts, and to chase away evil spirits. Palo santo wood is believed to release its purifying properties when burned. It removes negativity and obstacles and attract good fortune. It clears away negative thoughts, unfortunate situations, it wards off evil spirits, and helps to re-establish peace and balance. To cleanse any space’s energy, simply light a stick and then extinguish the flame, gently waving the stick in the air or waving your hand over the stick. White smoke will be emitted from the smoldering stick, which can disperse around you or your space.
