The Prevectron Lightning conductor is made to protect any kind of buildings/structures/open areas against direct lightning strikes.
During a lightning storm, the lower electrodes collect energy from the ambient electric field and store it into capacitors. When a lightning is approaching, detection devices contained in the system are able to sense it and subsequently release the energy from the capacitors to the series of upper electrodes. High voltage sparks then appear between these upper electrodes and the central rod, generating a powerful upward streamer. This streamer intercepts the lightning of opposite charge, creating a conductive path between the cloud and the Prevectron. The lightning current can then flow safely and directly to the ground via an earthing system
