White dextrin is a soluble carbohydrate produced by heating or partially hydrolyzing starch. because of it's excellent binding and adhesive properties, it has a wide variety of industrial uses such as it is widely used as a water soluble glue for making envelopes, paper bages, cardboard boxes, tube winding, and gummed labels or stamps.
It is aslo used in fireworks to hold the chemical compositions together when creating color sparks, stars and sparklers. It also helps the mixture adhere to the fuse
