It is a type of *activated clay / bentonite* made by activating natural clay with acid. Brand name TONSIL from Clariant - it's been used for over 100 years. It's called "bleaching" because it bleaches/decolorizes oil.
Main Uses:
*1. Edible Oil Refining - #1 use*
- Decolorizes and purifies crude vegetable oils:
Cottonseed, Soybean, Sunflower, Palm oil, Palm kernel, Coconut, Peanut, Corn, Mustard, Olive, Rice bran oil
- Removes: pigments (chlorophyll, carotenoids), bad smell, heavy metals, phospholipids, peroxides
